Smile, you sonofa…

I received some great news yesterday in the form of an email from Ellen Datlow – she enjoyed ‘Shark! Shark!’ enough that she has recommended it for Bram Stoker Award consideration!

I think that might deserve another exclamation mark, actually: !

Sure put a smile on my face.  It’s still there.

There are lots that have been recommended so far (have a look by clicking here: http://www.horror.org/stoker/2012readinglist.php) but check out the company I’m keeping there in the Long Fiction category.  It could go no further and I’d be happy.

Of course, I’d be even happier to see ‘Shark! Shark!’ on the next list…

  1. Congratulations, Ray! And well-deserved. It was, for me, the standout of the issue. But, um, hate to say this … I quite liked “Open Water.” 🙂

  2. Ray Cluley says:

Thanks, Mike. Actually, I rather liked Open Water too, but liking it didn’t seem to fit with the story. Couldn’t help thinking it would have made a better short story than film, though.

  3. Cate Gardner says:

Wow! That is seriously cause for a happy dance.

  4. Ray Cluley says:

    Isn’t it? I’m still dancin’!
